Universal Pictures releases the first trailer for Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey

Universal Pictures has released the official two-and-a-half-minute trailer for the film adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey, directed by Christopher Nolan. The production, which was filmed entirely with IMAX cameras, is scheduled for a theatrical release in July 2026, with a premiere in Greek theaters set for July 16. The film features Matt Damon as Odysseus, Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Robert Pattinson as Antinous, Charlize Theron as Circe, and Tom Holland as Telemachus. The cast also includes Jon Bernthal, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, and Elliott Page. The trailer showcases sequences involving the Cyclops, the Trojan War, and the Laestrygonians. Producer Emma Thomas stated at CinemaCon 2026 that the film is expected to have a duration of under three hours, though post-production is still ongoing. The trailer debuted on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
