Cyprus reports tourism revenue growth in February 2026 and reviews 2025 performance
Cyprus recorded tourism revenue of €85.3 million in February 2026, a 7 percent increase from €79.7 million in February 2025. Total revenue for the first two months of 2026 reached €159.9 million, up 7.4 percent from the previous year. Despite higher total revenue, average spending per tourist dropped by 2.3 percent to €581.85. The United Kingdom remained the primary market, followed by Poland and Israel, with Israeli tourists showing the highest daily spending at €157.15. The Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat) noted these figures precede geopolitical tensions that escalated in the Middle East on February 28, 2026. Separately, 2025 full-year data showed tourist arrivals reached 4,534,073, a 12.2 percent increase, with total tourism revenue hitting €3.69 billion. Total traveler arrivals for 2025 were 7,102,208, predominantly via air travel, with 79.8 percent of visitors citing leisure as their primary purpose.
