Cyprus Civil Defense updates fire safety protocols and plans evacuation drills
The Cyprus Civil Defense has announced a series of measures to improve fire readiness ahead of the summer season. Throughout May, evacuation drills will be conducted in communities across all provinces to enhance operational coordination and citizen familiarity with emergency procedures. These exercises are part of the state's broader strategy for disaster prevention and management. In preparation for these drills, the Civil Defense updated the 'Polyvios' emergency plan. This revision process involved visits to all communities nationwide to consult with local councils and account for specific local needs. The revisions to the 'Polyvios' plan were concluded by mid-April. The goal of these initiatives is to improve communication between state services and local authorities to protect human life, property, and the environment.
