Teenager with disability attacked in Nea Filadelfeia
A 17-year-old student with autism was assaulted on Saturday night at Patriarchou Konstantinou Square in Nea Filadelfeia. The incident began when the victim's sister accidentally bumped into the 20-year-old girlfriend of a 25-year-old man, leading to a verbal argument. According to reports, the 25-year-old, who has training in martial arts, struck the victim's sister and then punched the 17-year-old, causing a jaw fracture. The victim was hospitalized at Evangelismos Hospital. The perpetrators fled the scene but were arrested by police within 24 hours. While the perpetrators claimed the attack was a reflexive response to being hit first and that they were unaware of the victim's disability, authorities have filed charges for dangerous bodily harm against a vulnerable person. The victim was attending a concert with his sisters at the time of the incident.
