Cyprus national team places fifth at 59th European Sporting Championship

The 59th European Sporting Championship concluded in Vetralla, Italy, with the Cyprus national team finishing in fifth place. The Cypriot team, consisting of Charalambos Chatzimichail, Iasonas Giovani, Ilias Ilias, and Andreas Vasiliou, achieved a total score of 690 out of 800 targets. Italy won the gold medal with 728 hits, followed by France with 726 for silver, and Spain with 718 for bronze. Over 550 shooters from 33 European countries participated in the Open category of the event. Individually, Petros Ioannou represented Cyprus with the best result, tying for tenth place with a score of 184 out of 200. Charis Konstantinou finished in a tie for 14th place with 183 hits, and Charalambos Chatzimichail tied for 22nd place with 181 hits. Ioannou received an award for placing in the top fifteen shooters as per championship regulations.
