Aleksandr Kokorin to depart from Aris Limassol

Aris Limassol general manager Pavel Gognidze confirmed that Russian forward Aleksandr Kokorin will leave the club at the end of the current season. Gognidze cited the player's recent injury struggles, the difficulty of returning to peak physical form after surgery, and the club's strategic need to refresh the roster by providing more playing time to younger athletes. Kokorin, who joined the team in the summer of 2022, recorded 33 goals and 17 assists in 112 appearances and played a vital role in the club winning its first championship. The club plans to hold a farewell ceremony during the final home match against AEK Larnaca. While Gognidze stated there are no current plans for a different role within the club, he noted that he and the player will maintain contact. Meanwhile, Kokorin’s agent has officially denied recent Russian media rumors suggesting the striker intends to retire from professional football.
