Cypriot student-athletes in the United States prepare for NCAA finals

Cypriot student-athletes studying in the United States are currently navigating a demanding schedule of final university examinations and collegiate track and field competitions. May serves as a critical month for these athletes as they aim to qualify for the NCAA championships, which are scheduled to take place from June 10 to 13, 2026, in Eugene, Oregon. Among the athletes featured is Valentina Savva, a sophomore at the University of California, Berkeley. Savva, who holds a silver medal from the U20 World Championships in the hammer throw, is coached by Giorgos Arestis and locally trained by Tyler Berdof. Throughout the ongoing season, she has competed in five university meets. Her current season-best performance in the hammer throw is 68.18 meters, recorded on April 11, 2026.
