Tornado hits Synkrasi near Trikomo causing property damage

A tornado struck the village of Synkrasi, near Trikomo, yesterday afternoon following heavy rainfall. The storm caused significant damage to the roofs of houses and local dairy facilities, and several trees were uprooted. Teams from the Trikomo municipality have been dispatched to the area to assess the damage and conduct repairs. According to the meteorological service, the highest rainfall recorded over the past 24 hours occurred in the Limnitis area, reaching 29 kilograms per square meter. Meanwhile, reports from Turkish Cypriot media also highlighted the unusual occurrence of snowfall in the Troodos mountains during the month of May. There have been no reports of injuries resulting from the weather events.
