Cyprus expands housing subsidy program for young people
Cyprus Minister of Interior Constantinos Ioannou announced an additional €11 million in funding for a state housing subsidy program targeting young people up to age 41. The original program, which provided up to €50,000 per applicant based on income and family criteria, was initially limited to 400 beneficiaries with a budget of €14.5 million. Following a total of 1,018 applications, the government decided to expand the scheme to include an additional 277 applicants who met all eligibility requirements. This decision aims to accommodate all positively evaluated applications submitted under the policy. The funding is intended to facilitate home ownership for young individuals and couples. The program is part of a broader government housing policy consisting of multiple strategic pillars.
