Cyprus Volunteerism Council distributes aid to wildfire-affected families in Limassol

The Pancyprian Coordinating Council for Volunteering (PCCV) distributed 14,400 euros in gift vouchers to representatives of eight communities in the Limassol district. The beneficiary villages include Agios Amvrosios, Agios Therapontas, Vasa Koilaniou, Vouni, Lofou, Mallia, Pachna, and Pano Kivides. These vouchers are intended for vulnerable families affected by the wildfires that occurred in the region. The funds were raised during a public appeal held by the PCCV between July 24, 2026, and October 31, 2025. Council President Ilias Dimitriou oversaw the delivery of the aid to local community leaders, who will manage the distribution to individual households. The organization noted that this is only a partial disbursement of the total funds raised. Further announcements regarding the allocation of remaining funds and equipment support are expected in the near future. These additional provisions will be based on specific equipment needs identified and submitted by the affected communities.
