Anti-corruption authority to reveal technical data on the 'Mafia state' report

The Independent Authority Against Corruption is set to release technical specifications regarding the investigative report into journalist Makarios Drousiotis' book, 'Mafia State'. The announcement will detail the report's volume, the number of evidentiary items, and the number of witnesses interviewed, but will not disclose actual findings at this stage. Transparency Commissioner Harris Poyadjis confirmed that the investigation, conducted by a four-member team including Gabrielle Louise McIntyre, Andreas Efthymiou, Charilaos Chrysanthou, and Orestis Nikita, is voluminous. The Authority plans to publish its final conclusions only after the May 24 parliamentary elections. Drousiotis' book contains allegations of systemic corruption and power abuse involving former president Nicos Anastasiades, who has denied these claims and initiated a €2 million defamation lawsuit. If the Authority identifies any criminal wrongdoing, it will refer the case to the Attorney-General's office.
