Aradippou municipality plans reconstruction of Kyriakou Matsi avenue
The Municipality of Aradippou has received ministerial approval to reconstruct Kyriakou Matsi avenue, a major arterial road connecting the Nea Salamina Stadium roundabout to the Aradippou town center and motorway. Mayor Christodoulos Partou stated that the project will be divided into two phases with a total estimated cost exceeding €8 million. The state will cover 80% of the funding, with the municipality contributing the remaining 20%. The municipality managed the design process independently due to time constraints at the Public Works Department. Phase one, estimated at €4 million, involves widening the road from two lanes to four between the stadium roundabout and the Australia Street roundabout. Phase two will extend the four-lane configuration to the Aradippou Secondary School and include the reconstruction of existing road sections, aiming to facilitate commercial development. No land expropriations are expected as part of the project. The municipality is currently advancing procedures to include the first phase in the 2027 state budget.
