Ministry of education announces 2026 summer public school program

The Cyprus Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth will operate the Summer Public Schools (SPS) program during the 2025-2026 school year. The initiative features an expansion from 58 to 64 schools, covering all five districts of Cyprus, including 39 primary schools and 25 kindergartens. The program will run for 25 working days, from June 22 to July 24, 2026. Daily operations are scheduled from 7:45 a.m. to 1:05 p.m., with an optional afternoon extension until 4:00 p.m. Attendance is free, though parents must cover the costs for lunch if opting for the afternoon session. Participation is restricted to children in grades 1 through 5 of primary school and eligible children in public kindergartens. The curriculum focuses on creative activities such as music, art, theater, and physical education, while also providing continued Greek language support for students with a migrant background.
