Two separate police incidents reported in Nicosia

On the evening of Monday, May 4, a foreign national was arrested on Ledra Street in central Nicosia after causing damage to a department store entrance. Police officers approached the individual, who had previous police records, after receiving reports from citizens. The suspect threatened the officer with a cone base, leading to his arrest for flagrant offenses. In a separate incident early Sunday morning, May 3, authorities responded to reports of a brawl involving a group of individuals near Paleon Patron Germanou and Rigainis streets. Police found no one at the scene upon arrival, and no formal complaints have been filed. However, video evidence surfaced showing a man physically assaulting another person who was on the ground. The brawl resulted in damage to a parked vehicle owned by a Greek Cypriot, and investigations to identify the participants are ongoing.
