Cyprus: Third lowest deposit rates in the Eurozone

Deposit interest rates in Cyprus increased in December 2025 for both households and businesses, according to data from the European Central Bank. Despite the increase, Cyprus has the third-lowest deposit rates in the Eurozone for households and the lowest for businesses. Low interest rates are attributed to the high liquidity of Cypriot banks and the small size of the banking market. Loan interest rates in Cyprus are close to the Eurozone average.
