Turkish MoD's reaction to Mitsotakis' statement on 12 nautical miles

The Turkish Ministry of Defense stated that Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis's declarations regarding the expansion of territorial waters in the Aegean Sea to 12 nautical miles have "no legal validity" for Turkey. Turkey claims that a fair division of maritime zones in the Aegean can only be achieved through mutual dialogue. They consider Greece's unilateral actions and claims as unacceptable and against international law. The Turkish Armed Forces will continue to protect Turkey's rights and interests in its maritime zones.
