Tourism statistics for the northern part of Cyprus in early 2026

Data from the northern part of Cyprus indicates that 460,031 passengers arrived by air and sea during January and February 2026. This total includes 345,847 Turkish citizens, 44,669 other foreign nationals, and 69,515 residents of the territory. Excluding residents, the number of foreign visitors exceeded 390,516 for the two-month period. Statistics show a 10.4% increase in Turkish visitors compared to the same period in 2025. Among other nationalities, German visitors saw the largest growth at 74.9%, reaching 4,817 individuals. Pakistani citizens increased by 38% to 2,704, and Israeli citizens increased by 23.2% to 1,676. Conversely, the number of Iranian visitors declined by 28.8%, dropping from 4,752 to 3,385. These figures were provided by the local department of tourism planning.
