Russian Ambassador: Cyprus issue solution only through dialogue of the "Cypriot communities"

Russian Ambassador to Nicosia, Murat Zyazikov, emphasized the UN's role and the need for dialogue between Cyprus's two communities regarding the Cyprus issue. He stated that a sustainable solution can only be achieved through constructive dialogue between the Cypriot leaders under UN auspices. Russia, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, supports a comprehensive and fair solution reflecting Cypriots' interests and ensuring Eastern Mediterranean peace. Zyazikov also highlighted the historical ties between Russia and Cyprus, despite pressure from some EU capitals, and argued against Russia's political isolation.
