Arrest after shots fired in Agios Dimitrios

On Saturday, April 2, at approximately 06:40, a man was arrested in the Agios Dimitrios area of Athens for discharging a firearm into the air. The incident occurred on Nikiforou Mandilara Street. Police reports differ on the suspect's age, citing him as either 20 or 30 years old, while confirming his Georgian origin. It was reported that the individual may have been under the influence of alcohol during the incident. Authorities recovered a handgun and 57 9mm cartridges from the scene. Additional items seized from the residence included a taser, a pocketknife, and tools identified by some sources as burglary equipment. The Agios Dimitrios police department is conducting the preliminary investigation.
