AEK Athens nears league title following matchday 3 of Super League playoffs
Following the third matchday of the Stoiximan Super League playoffs, AEK Athens remains at the top of the standings with 67 points. The team played to a 0-0 draw against Panathinaikos at Leoforos stadium, despite their opponents playing with ten men from the 17th minute due to the dismissal of Javi Hernandez. Meanwhile, PAOK defeated Olympiacos 3-1, moving level with the Piraeus club on 61 points. With three matches remaining, AEK holds a six-point lead over both rivals. Mathematically, AEK can secure their 14th championship title on May 10th if they win against Panathinaikos and the match between Olympiacos and PAOK ends in a draw. Panathinaikos is now officially locked in fourth place and has lost the mathematical chance to challenge for a higher position.
