26-year-old lawyer killed in shooting incident in Turkey

On Monday, 26-year-old lawyer Hatice Kocaefe was shot and killed in Turkey by a merchant identified as Hakki Cetin. The incident occurred outside a warehouse belonging to the victim's family, where Cetin allegedly ambushed Kocaefe, her sister, and their father. The dispute stemmed from a 95,000 euro debt the perpetrator owed the victim's sister. Reports indicate that Kocaefe had initiated legal proceedings against Cetin, who had reportedly threatened the sisters to withdraw the lawsuit. Security camera footage shows a car circling the area before the shooting, during which Kocaefe was struck in the chest and her sister in the knee. Kocaefe later died from her injuries at a hospital. While Cetin claimed to police that he encountered the victims by chance and intended only to shoot their legs, authorities arrested him along with six other individuals. Investigations are ongoing.
