11th annual fish festival held in Latsi
The 11th annual Fish Festival took place on Saturday, May 2, at the Latsi harbor in the Polis Chrysochous Municipality. The event was held under the auspices of the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Maria Panayiotou, who attended the ceremony. Organizers served 1,200 kilograms of free fresh picarel of fresh picarel caught in the Chrysochous Bay to attendees, alongside complimentary beer. The program featured culinary demonstrations by chef Chryso Lefou, music performances by Matthaios Giannoulis, Antonis Chavadakis, and Giota Karra, and traditional dancing. More than fifty exhibitors participated, showcasing local products and traditional crafts. The event was co-funded by the Paphos Development Agency Aphrodite Ltd and the European Union under the 2021-2027 Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Program. Mayor Giotis Papachristofi highlighted the festival's role in promoting local gastronomy and the region's cultural identity.
