Karolina Pelendritou wins silver at Para Swimming World Series in Paris
Cypriot athlete Karolina Pelendritou won the silver medal in the 100m breaststroke at the Para Swimming World Series 2026 in Paris. She completed the final in 1:23.28, improving upon her previous performances. The gold medal was secured by Russian athlete Daria Lukianenko, while Canadian swimmer Ali Diehl earned the bronze. This event marks Pelendritou's first competition of 2026, which serves as part of her preparation for the European Championship scheduled for September in Turkey. The Paris competition is the fourth of nine events in the annual series. Pelendritou is also scheduled to compete in the 50m freestyle event on Sunday, May 3. Her participation is supported by the Cyprus Sports Organization (KOA), the Cyprus Paralympic Committee (KEPE), and sponsors Allwyn Cyprus and SWANS.
