Karolina Pelendritou competes at Para Swimming World Series Paris 2026
Cypriot Paralympic swimmer Karolina Pelendritou competed at the Para Swimming World Series Paris 2026, marking her first event of the 2026 season. On Saturday, May 2, she secured a silver medal in the 100-meter breaststroke (SB11) with a final time of 1:23.28. The gold medal in this event was won by Russian swimmer Daria Lukianenko, while Canadian Ali Diehl took the bronze. On Sunday, May 3, Pelendritou competed in the 50-meter freestyle (S11), qualifying first in the morning with a time of 30.37 but finishing 5th in the afternoon final with a time of 31.72. The rankings in these events are determined by a points-based system relative to world records. This competition serves as preparation for the European Championship scheduled for September in Turkey. Her participation is supported by the Cyprus Sports Organization (KOA), the Cyprus Paralympic Committee (KEPE), Allwyn Cyprus, and SWANS.
