Reports regarding Sibel Tatar's potential political candidacy

Sibel Tatar, wife of former Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar, publicly stated that she is considering entering politics after receiving a proposal from Kudret Ozersay, leader of the People's Party (HP), approximately three weeks ago. Tatar noted that she is currently in the decision-making process and expressed that those who love their country should take action during this period. However, the People's Party has officially denied that a concrete candidacy offer was made. Turgut Alas, secretary-general of the HP, clarified that party leader Kudret Ozersay meets with many individuals as part of an open dialogue process. Alas emphasized that these meetings should not be interpreted as formal offers for a place on the party's electoral ballot. He further stated that the HP acts with the aim of governing all segments of society impartially. Tatar has recently increased her public profile through social responsibility projects, fueling speculation about her political future. A final decision on whether she will join the party or run for office has not been made.
