Series of arson incidents reported in Paphos
Recent days in Paphos have seen a string of arson attacks, including the burning of a 31-year-old man's car around 1:15 AM and a separate incident involving a shop owned by a 40-year-old. In the shop case, a resident discovered the fire at 2:00 AM and extinguished it with a hose before police were notified. A more serious incident occurred on Sunday at 1:00 AM, where four ambulances belonging to a private clinic in Geroskipou were set on fire using flammable materials. Authorities confirmed the clinic's owner has been a repeated target, recently experiencing an attempted arson and a hand grenade attack on his home in Ayia Marinouda. A 59-year-old suspect is currently in custody regarding the grenade attack. Investigations by the Paphos CID are ongoing for all incidents, with evidence collected for forensic analysis. Police are currently exploring potential links between the attacks, citing possible financial motives.
