Former Greek football player Dionysis Tsamis passes away at 74

Former AEK and Panaitolikos football player Dionysis Tsamis has passed away at the age of 74 following health complications. Tsamis began his professional career with Panaitolikos in the mid-1960s, recording 160 appearances before transferring to AEK in 1972 at the age of 21. During his eight-year tenure with AEK, which lasted until 1980, he played as a midfielder and participated in 216 matches, scoring 8 goals. He was a key member of the team that reached the UEFA Cup semi-finals in the 1976-77 season. Additionally, he helped AEK secure the double in 1977-78 and the league title in 1978-79. Throughout his career at AEK, he earned two caps for the Greek national team. Both clubs issued official statements expressing condolences and honoring his contributions to Greek football.
