Scottish woman convicted for murder of her infant daughter
A 30-year-old woman, Nicole Blain, has been convicted by a Glasgow court for the murder of her 19-day-old daughter. Forensic evidence presented during the trial revealed the infant suffered catastrophic injuries, including three skull fractures, broken ribs, and brain damage, consistent with violent shaking and impact against a hard surface. The defendant attempted to blame another child present in the home, but the jury and prosecution rejected this claim as baseless. Following the infant's death, the mother solicited financial donations on TikTok to pay for a funeral, which she described as a tragic accident. Her social media content featured requests for money for items such as a horse-drawn carriage for the ceremony. These videos were deleted once the legal proceedings began. The court heard testimony from family members regarding the moments leading up to the child's hospitalization. The defendant's sentencing is pending.
