Cyprus weather forecast: Temperature drop and potential snowfall expected

The Cyprus Department of Meteorology reports that a weak low-pressure system is currently affecting the region. Today, temperatures will reach up to 28 degrees Celsius inland, 23 in the west, 25 in other coastal areas, and 18 in the mountains, with isolated rain or thunderstorms possible in the afternoon. Skies will be mostly clear, though thin dust is expected to be present over the weekend. Starting Sunday evening, a relatively cold air mass will move into the area, leading to a significant drop in temperature. Kitasweather forecasts that an Omega Block weather pattern over Europe will increase rainfall probabilities. This shift may bring occasional snow or snow flurries to the highest peaks of Troodos. Conditions will remain generally fair with high sunshine until Friday, though local fog and low clouds are anticipated at night. Winds will range from variable to moderate, shifting from southwesterly to northwesterly.
