DIPA President Marios Garoyian addresses upcoming parliamentary elections
DIPA President Marios Garoyian held campaign events in Lakatamia and Latsia-Geri to introduce candidates for the Nicosia and Kyrenia districts. During these meetings, Garoyian stated that public opinion polls do not accurately reflect his party's true electoral potential, citing a 'hidden vote' that is not easily captured by current measurements. He emphasized that DIPA is not a personality-driven party but relies on its established political positions and experienced candidates. Garoyian confirmed his personal decision not to seek re-election to parliament, clarifying that this signifies the end of his parliamentary cycle rather than an exit from political life. He explained that this move aims to promote renewal and provide opportunities for new faces within the party. Supporters and party members, including Demis Markidis, have been urged to maintain active participation in the upcoming May elections. Garoyian rejected the need for populist rhetoric, arguing that the party's strength lies in consistent and responsible discourse.
