Annual inflation rate in Cyprus reaches 3.0 percent in April 2026
According to preliminary Eurostat data published on Thursday, April 30, 2026, the annual inflation rate in Cyprus reached 3.0 percent, up from 1.5 percent in March. This figure aligns Cyprus with the Eurozone average, which also rose to 3.0 percent from 2.6 percent in the previous month. On a monthly basis, Cyprus experienced a 2.2 percent increase, marking one of the highest fluctuations among member states. The primary driver of this trend across the Eurozone was energy prices, which recorded an annual growth of 10.9 percent compared to 5.1 percent in March. Other contributing components included services at 3.0 percent, food, alcohol, and tobacco at 2.5 percent, and non-energy industrial goods at 0.8 percent. While Cyprus aligns with the average, other nations reported higher levels, such as Greece at 4.6 percent, Lithuania at 4.9 percent, and Croatia at 5.4 percent. Reports attribute the rising inflationary pressures within the Eurozone partly to geopolitical crises impacting fuel costs.
