Kobbie Mainoo to sign new five-year contract with Manchester United

Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is set to sign a new five-year contract, extending his stay at the club until the summer of 2031. Following negotiations, his weekly wages are reportedly set to increase from £20,000 to £150,000, representing a 650% raise. This development follows a change in the club's stance, reportedly influenced by Michael Carrick, who advocated for the player's retention. The 21-year-old had previously been linked with an exit during Ruben Amorim's tenure, but his fortunes shifted due to his performance this season. Mainoo has recorded 26 appearances and three assists during the current campaign. Fabrizio Romano confirmed that a full agreement has been reached between the club and the player to continue their partnership. While earlier reports suggested the club was initially hesitant to meet his demands, the final agreement secures his future at Old Trafford.
