United States considers deploying Dark Eagle hypersonic missiles to the Middle East
The United States Central Command has requested the deployment of the Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon, known as Dark Eagle, to the Middle East. This proposal aims to reach Iranian ballistic missile launchers that are currently outside the range of the Precision Strike Missile, which is limited to 300 miles. Although the weapon has faced development delays and is not yet fully operational, this move represents a significant strategic shift. The request follows reports of Iran moving its launchers to safer positions. Currently, a ceasefire between Washington and Tehran has been in effect since April 9. Analysts suggest that both nations are using this period for rearmament and strategic planning. If approved by President Donald Trump, this would mark the first operational deployment of the system, signaling a response to comparable developments in Russia and China.
