APOEL receives second FIFA transfer ban due to unpaid debts
The APOEL Football Public Ltd board has confirmed that FIFA has imposed a transfer ban on the club due to outstanding financial obligations owed to Moroccan forward Youssef El Arabi. This action follows a previous transfer ban related to Dimitrios Galanopoulos, which has been in effect since March 12. According to local media, this new penalty also prohibits the club from registering new players for three transfer windows. APOEL President Charis Fotiou had previously warned of the potential for such sanctions during a press conference on March 30 and in open meetings with fans. The club administration stated they are working to address these and similar cases to mitigate further consequences. Both bans currently restrict the team's ability to reinforce its squad during the specified periods.
