KEDIPES makes a 30 million euro repayment toward state aid

On April 30, 2026, KEDIPES paid €30 million as part of the state aid repayment for the former Cyprus Cooperative Bank. Since its inception in 2018, KEDIPES has repaid a total of €1.8 billion, consisting of €1.71 billion in cash, €78 million for the Mortgage-to-Rent scheme, and €12 million in other payments including the Estia scheme. Under the Mortgage-to-Rent scheme, 638 residences have been included to date. KEDIPES currently holds a €60 million cash reserve to finance this scheme. The repayment amount accounts for financial obligations to Eurobank Limited regarding the repurchase of a non-performing loan portfolio following the termination of the Loan Guarantee Scheme on January 30, 2026. Furthermore, the payment size reflects uncertainty regarding the legislative framework for managing non-performing loans.
