Man injures five people with a hammer in Fussa, Tokyo
On Wednesday, a 44-year-old suspect attacked two teenagers with a hammer near his home in Fussa, a suburb of Tokyo. Reports suggest the confrontation was triggered because the teenagers were speaking loudly. One student sustained a severe facial injury, while his classmate suffered a minor shoulder injury. When police arrived at the scene, the suspect sprayed three officers with an unidentified substance before fleeing. In total, five people were reportedly injured during the incident. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police have declined to comment on the case to the media. Japanese authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the attack, which remains unusual given the country's strict gun control laws and low violent crime rates.
