Ugandan army chief claims greek heritage following DNA test

Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces of Uganda and son of President Yoweri Museveni, claimed on the social media platform X that a recent DNA test revealed he is 14% Greek. Kainerugaba, who was appointed to his military position in March 2024, asserted a connection to Alexander the Great and expressed his intention to visit Greece without the need for a visa. His report of the test results also claimed 19% Somali and 7% English ancestry, while labeling the remainder of his genetic composition as a state secret. Beyond his ancestral claims, the general has frequently used social media for controversial geopolitical statements, including threats against Turkey and offers to send 100,000 troops to Israel. His public record includes other eccentric declarations, such as past threats to invade Kenya and an offer of 100 cows as a dowry for Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Critics and international observers often refer to him as the 'tweeting general' due to these frequent and inflammatory social media posts.
