Cyprus police conduct weekend enforcement operations resulting in multiple arrests and citations
Cyprus Police conducted coordinated patrols across urban areas on Friday and Saturday nights to prevent crime and ensure public order. On Saturday night, officers arrested seven individuals for offenses including driving under the influence and speeding. During this operation, 666 vehicles were intercepted and 744 individuals were checked. Police also inspected 57 premises, resulting in six reports, and issued 233 traffic citations, 26 of which were for drunk driving. Additionally, 14 vehicles were impounded following 512 breathalyzer tests. In a separate operation on Friday night, two arrests were made for DUI and public insult. The Friday enforcement included checks on 591 individuals, 35 premises, and resulted in 101 traffic citations and seven impounded vehicles. These nationwide operations are part of a broader strategy for crime suppression and public safety.
