Reopening of the Mortgage-to-Rent scheme announced by the Finance Ministry
The Ministry of Finance of Cyprus has announced the reopening of the Mortgage-to-Rent scheme. Applications will be accepted from Monday, May 4, 2026, until Friday, July 31, 2026. Forms are available online via the KEDIPES website or at designated regional offices. Completed applications must be submitted in printed format exclusively at KEDIPES district offices in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos, or Paralimni. The scheme targets non-performing credit facilities secured by a primary residence, which were classified as non-performing on December 31, 2021, or December 31, 2022. Eligible properties must have a market value not exceeding 250,000 euros, and applicants must have resided in the property for at least six months per year since January 1, 2021. The program includes specific social groups, such as recipients of the Minimum Guaranteed Income or disability allowances, and requires that either the applicant or their spouse be an EU citizen.
