Astromeritis-Evrychou highway opens to traffic

The Astromeritis-Evrychou highway is scheduled to open to traffic on Thursday afternoon. This project constitutes the fourth phase of the Nicosia-Troodos highway, spanning approximately 11.3 kilometers from south of Astromeritis to the Evrychou area. The construction was completed by the Cybarco–Pharmakas joint venture under the supervision of the Department of Public Works. The project was delivered within the revised timeline and adheres to a budget of €74,477,000, excluding VAT. Technical features include a grade-separated junction at Koutrafas, a terminal roundabout, and a 750-meter viaduct. The new four-lane highway aims to enhance road safety and reduce travel time to the Troodos, Soleas, Marathasa, and Pitsilia regions. Authorities have urged the public to adhere to new signage and speed limits during the initial period of operation.
