Minister of Interior inaugurates second phase of Apesia center renovation

Minister of Interior Constantinos Ioannou inaugurated the second phase of the renovation project for the traditional center of Apesia. The project focuses on upgrading the area around the local churches by integrating their yards with public spaces to enhance functionality. During the event, the Minister highlighted a broader three-year development program managed by the Department of Town Planning and Housing for the 2026-2028 period. This national program includes urban infrastructure projects across Cyprus with a total investment exceeding 91 million euros. The Ministry aims to target both urban and rural areas to promote sustainable mobility, green development, and the preservation of natural and cultural heritage. According to the official announcement, these interventions are intended to improve the quality of life and social cohesion within local communities. The completed works in Apesia are presented as part of this wider governmental strategy to revitalize traditional cores and urban infrastructure.
