Industrialists of Agios Athanasios submit memorandum to DISY leadership

On Wednesday morning, the Board of Directors of the Agios Athanasios Industrialists Association (SYVIA) met with Annita Demetriou, President of the Democratic Rally (DISY), to present a memorandum regarding regional issues. The meeting, attended by DISY officials and parliamentary candidates, addressed several critical concerns affecting the industrial zone. Key issues identified include inadequate exit points, loss of public utility space, and safety hazards posed by an unmaintained green area exceeding 25,000 square meters. The association highlighted excessive bureaucracy and requested improved parking facilities and solar energy integration. Furthermore, members reported problems with criminality, a lack of emergency evacuation plans, insufficient infrastructure, and poor maintenance of common areas. Concerns were also raised regarding local government fees, which businesses claim are collected without reciprocal services, as well as traffic congestion within the zone. The proximity of the industrial area to residential neighborhoods was cited as a major factor necessitating urgent decongestion and tax adjustments.
