Bicommunal music workshops held in Pissouri

On April 24 and 25, 2026, Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot musicians participated in the 'Cypriot Sound-Stories III' workshops in Pissouri. The event was organized by the 'Epilogi' Cultural Movement in collaboration with the 'Lena Melanidou' Bicommunal Choir. A total of 65 choristers participated in three workshop cycles guided by conductors Michalis Grigoriou, Kursat Tilki, and Georgia Polyniki. The curriculum focused on traditional Cypriot music, utilizing songs common to both Greek and Turkish cultural heritage. Participants engaged in experimentation with sound, polyphony, and improvisation. Despite language differences, organizers reported no obstacles to communication. The event concluded with a commitment from group leaders Tatiana Tsietti and Kostas Christodoulidis to continue this collaboration through future joint projects and public performances.
