Central Bank of Cyprus reports rise in deposits and loans for March 2026
Data from the Central Bank of Cyprus shows that total deposits in March 2026 increased by €426.8 million, reaching a total balance of €57.8 billion. This follows a growth of €202.2 million in February, with the annual growth rate rising to 5.6%. Deposits from residents in Cyprus increased by €344.1 million, while household deposits fell by €138.1 million. Conversely, deposits from non-financial corporations rose by €158.3 million, and other domestic sectors added €323.9 million. Total loans also saw a significant net increase of €528.1 million, compared to €326.2 million in February, bringing the total balance to €27.9 billion. The annual growth rate for loans reached 12.6% in March, up from 12.3% the previous month. Loans to Cyprus residents grew by €72.3 million, specifically with households receiving €52.3 million and non-financial companies receiving €37.3 million. Other domestic sector loans recorded a decrease of €17.3 million.
