Cyprus industrial production index report for February 2026
In February 2026, the Cyprus industrial production index fell by 2.4% year-on-year, reaching 108.4 units based on a 2021 index of 100. According to the Statistical Service of Cyprus, this decline was primarily driven by a 12.7% drop in electricity supply. The manufacturing sector contracted by 1.2%, and mining and quarrying saw a 2.1% decrease. Conversely, water supply and material recovery sectors grew by 4.7%. Within manufacturing, production of basic metals and metal products rose by 5.5%, while refined petroleum, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals increased by 3.3%. Notable decreases occurred in furniture manufacturing and machinery repair, which dropped by 8%, and vehicle and transport equipment production, which fell by 7.4%. Despite the monthly decline, the cumulative index for January and February 2026 showed a marginal 0.1% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
