Arrests following shooting in occupied Famagusta and drug seizure in Nicosia

On Tuesday night at approximately 10:30 pm, a shooting incident occurred at an industrial area in occupied Famagusta. A verbal altercation between three individuals outside a mechanical workshop escalated into a physical fight, leading a fourth person to open fire indiscriminately with an illegally held pistol. The group present included a relative of the alleged shooter, but no injuries were reported. A vehicle was damaged during the incident, and four 9mm cartridges were recovered at the scene. Authorities have arrested 14 individuals, while the suspected gunman remains at large. In a separate event in occupied Nicosia, local authorities searched a residence and found 12 grams of a substance believed to be cannabis and six restricted pharmaceutical tablets. One suspect was arrested in connection with the drug case, and investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
