Donald Trump's approval rating reaches record low in new Reuters/Ipsos poll
A new Reuters/Ipsos poll indicates that U.S. President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to 34%, the lowest point since he took office in January 2025. This reflects a decline from 36% in a previous survey conducted between April 15 and 20. Respondents identified rising living costs and the war against Iran, initiated by the U.S. and Israel on February 28, as primary factors for their dissatisfaction. Approval regarding his handling of living costs dropped to 22%, down from 25%. The data shows a steady decline from the 47% approval rating recorded at the start of his term. Most responses were collected before a shooting attempt at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner last Saturday, for which a suspect is now facing federal charges. The economic pressure from fuel price increases has raised concerns among Republicans regarding the upcoming congressional elections in November.
