The discussion focused on the long-delayed construction of the road connecting Paphos to Polis Chrysochous, a project dating back to the late 1990s. The conflict began when Koupparis suggested that the local members of parliament, including Savvides and Valentinos Fakontis of AKEL, had not exerted sufficient pressure to advance the project. This remark prompted a sharp, angry rebuttal from Savvides, who denied the accusation and demanded the deputy mayor cease making false statements. The situation escalated to the point where presenter Sotiris Paroutis was forced to interrupt the broadcast for a commercial break to regain control.
