Cyprus University of Technology launches tender for new school in Larnaca
The Municipality of Larnaca has officially announced a tender for the construction of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) Faculty of Marine Sciences, Technology, and Sustainable Development. The project, with a budget of €11,950,000, will be located on a plot of land near the Makenzy coast. The planned facility spans 4,960 square meters and will feature two academic departments, accommodating up to 500 students at full capacity. The construction timeframe is set for 22 months, with a deadline for bid submissions on June 4, 2026. Financing is secured through a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB). The building will include amphitheatres, classrooms, administrative offices, and specialized laboratories, with initial student enrollment targeted for autumn 2028. A feasibility study conducted by Grant Thornton confirmed the project's long-term sustainability.
