Greek representative Akylas begins rehearsals for Eurovision 2026 in Vienna
The Greek Eurovision 2026 delegation, led by artist Akylas, arrived in Vienna on May 1st to prepare for the 70th song contest. On May 2nd, the artist completed his first rehearsal at the Wiener Stadthalle for his entry, 'Ferto', directed by Fokas Evangelinos. The performance features four additional performers—Parthena Chorozidou, Christos Nikolaou, Michalis Michailidis, and Konstantinos Makrypidis—who appear as video game characters before a transition where the artist addresses his mother. The creative team includes video artist Christos Magkanas, set designer Giannis Mourikis, lighting designer Giorgos Tellos, and costume designers Filippos Missas and Giorgos Segredakis. Akylas is scheduled for a second technical rehearsal on May 6th, followed by dress rehearsals starting May 11th. He will compete in the first semi-final on May 12th, performing in the fourth position. Current betting odds place Greece in fourth place, with the nation aiming to qualify for the grand final scheduled for May 16th.
